Meet the cook!
My name is Monica and welcome to Sweetbites, my food blog.
I started blogging back in 2005 and have spent all this time writing incoherent and inappropriate ramblings about past dating, the “present” relationship, travels, everyday stuff and my state of mind over at Maca’s World.
I decided to start a food blog and separted the cooking post from my personal blog and moved them here. While on my personal blog you will find ”my crazy”, over here is all about my other passion, which is feeding the people that I love with my cooking.
You can thank my Italian ancestors for that.
I come from a long line of really good cooks and was introduced to cooking by my maternal “nonna” (grandmother), and my mother, who is a tremendous cook . I thought about going to culinary school when I was young, broke and full of dreams - I decided to use my small earnings to travel instead.
I was born (and grew up) in South America, lived in Europe and now the US. Being expose to so many cultures has brought different characteristic to my cooking, mixing up my childhood favorites with my ever growing palate of today.
I have a boyfriend, who eventually will become my husband and father of my future babies. We live with 2 cats, two dogs, and his 8-year old boy. I keep everyone happily feed and on their toes because I need them for blogging material.
Besides my 8 to 5 job, I started Sweetbites, as a tiny catering company, who focuses on small catering feasts and desserts. I have found myself cooking more and more and decided to start putting all of this out there, to share and eventually snag a book deal (kidding!), um, no not really, if you are book agent, CALL ME!
This site is for sharing my recipes, working on learning how to use my camera to give you yummy food photos and promoting the fun to have cooking for the ones you love.
